Raised in northern New Jersey, Rezen garnered a love for music and performing from an early age. After several years of performing in regional theatre and singing in piano bars, Rezen started writing original music drawing influences from lyric-based artists like Glen Hansard, Bright Eyes, The Mountain Goats, and Lyle Lovett.
Rezen's writing is inspired by his great love for philosophy, politics, religion and psychology along with his extensive background in storytelling. Recently, he began writing and curating songs for his first album, Terms and Conditions, based on the ideas and writings of Anna Freud (daughter of Sigmund) on defense mechanisms. Demos from Terms and Conditions have been released periodically while the full recorded album is still being developed.
Rezen is currently a BFA candidate at The New School College of Performing Arts where he studies drama, songwriting, and playwriting. You can frequently find him both on the boards and in the bars of Greenwich Village where he performs everything from Shakespeare, to Albee, to his original songs and plays.
